Christmas with Crafting with Tabatha

Well Ladies I have decided that I am going to be having a Christmas give a away.  I was thinking of posting pictures put I decided that I want it to be a suprise.  You have from now until Sunday to leave a comment on my blog.  I will then pick 2 people to be the lucky winners.  GOOD LUCK LADIES

Tea and Tatting Tuesday......

I recently started drinking tea from Teavana.  I have found a few teas that I have fallen in love with.  I wanted to share a few of the combinations that I have been drinking.

The first one is.....  Sakura Allure Green Tea - Description:  Elegantly cut bamboo is the base of this enchanting green tea blend, enhancing the clean refreshing taste of cherry, pineapple, mango, rose and hibiscus. The Kyoto temple's Sakura blossoms in full bloom make the spiritual coupling of floral and fruit come alive as rose and hibiscus intertwine with lively cherry, mango and candied pineapple. SUPERFRUIT ENHANCED

Mixed with

The second on is....  Weight To Go! Pu-erh Tea - Description:  Enticing, tantalizing and truly energizing this rosy blush blend of pu-erh black and green oolong teas merge to create an intoxicating mix of sweet fruit with bright mint. Sweet strawberries and golden delicious apples swirl into peppermint and spearmint and create guilt-free, slimful beauty inside and out. SUPERFRUIT ENHANCED

I have a 16 oz cup of this every morning now and it has helped decrease my appitate.  I am not as hungry anymore.  The taste is amazing along with the smell.  I have taken a few pictures of my morning tea to share with you as well.

Tea Steeping for 2 minutes with german rock sugar

Tea in Tins

The second flavor of tea that I drink are Blueberry Bliss Rooibos Tea and Strawberry Lemonade Herbal Tea.  This is an amazing combination as well.  Take the time and look at the website.  I have got several of my co-workers drinking this now.

As far as what's on my shuttles I am working on another heart.  I will post it when I have it done.

Day 20 Oops

This morning before Collin went to school he just had to open up my Advent Swap Items from Wanda.  He told me he got the package and just as he opened the box I looked at the tag and he opened the wrong one.  He accidentally opened the 21st.  So we decided that tomorrow we will open day 20.  I wanted to share my really nice gifts from Wanda.

The color is way off I didn't have very good light this morning as it is raining at the house.  The scissors are just soo cute I can't wait to use them.

Thank you Wanda!

Tatted Heart

Over the last few weeks there had been a lot of heartache and tears.  A lot of things are going on and well to help me look forward to some up coming things I have made myself a Tatted Heart to put on my Tree in my bedroom that I look at each time I pass in and out of my room.  It is helping me heal and hope it bring me all the best luck in the world that I need at this point in my life.

eBay Winner

A few weeks ago I was playing on eBay and found this auction of threads and a metal shuttle.  I had been trying to win several things but the others never came through.

This is my 1st metal shuttle :)

As you can see below there are all different kinds of colors to work with.  I have my eye on a gold color that I want to use to make Wanda's Bell Pattern that she made.

Maybe, just Maybe I'll share a ball or 2 soon with another give-a-way?  What do you ladies think of that?

Snowflake

My dad wanted to add a little bit of Christmas to the living room so I got one of the little fiber optic trees like I have for in the living room.  He wanted snowflakes in a hurry to put on it.  So I picked something small that I could whip up fast to keep him happy.  Here is one that I have to share.

Pay it Forward Gift

Oh several weeks back Wanda had done a Pay it Forward Gift.  I was lucky enough to be one of the winners.  I have been so wrapped up with so much other stuff that I am just getting around to posting the pictures of the gift.  I just adore it so much.  I it in my purse and when I need to put it in my back pack for work!  Thank you for the a wonderful gift.

Sad News

This weekend while I was working I had one of these bad feelings when I heard the 911 center dispatch the call over the air.  Sunday September 25, 2010 @ 1030 hours.  It was to the training facility that the local fire departments train.  It was for a Cardiac Arrest (meaning someone went down and there heart was not beating).  I immediately logged onto the local site and was able to see the units that were out on training there and it was the fire house that I grew up in since I was a baby.  After sitting on pins and needles for about 2 hours I found out who it was......tears began to flow.  It was someone that I grew up and considered my big brother :(  He was one of the people that stood behind me during training and kicked me in my butt to keep me going.  Someone that would not let me use the words "I can't".  He was someone that I ran ambulance every week and then when I was old enough we worked together.  Between the fire service and becoming and EMT and then later going on to be a paramedic Keith had taught me many things over the year's.

Keith doing what he loved to do teaching the new kids......

Keith was only 38 years old and leaves behind a wife that he married May of 2006 and 2 step-daughters along with his 2 dogs.

Over the last 2 day's I have been sitting with friends and family talking about "the good old times".  I did happen to remind my parents that at one point they thought he was a bad influence on me growning up - well we did do some crazy things, he did dare my best friends brother to ride his bike down the city street butt naked, that was one of many things we did growing up and they looked at me and said yes we know and he was not, now that we look back! :)

I just love this picture of Keith.  It was from one of the last calls that he responded on that I was able to find.  It reminds me of him looking down on us all and being our gardian angel.

I have got my uniform out and started to get all my stuff together for the funeral.  It is considered a Line Of Duty Death which is a big todo.  Lots of fire trucks and police depatments and ambulances.  Hundreds and hundreds will turn out to pay their respects from all over the United States.  My one partner and I will be taking our Medic Unit that I work on to the funeral.  The funeral is Thursday, September 29, 2011.

Latest Tatting Projects........

I have some tatting to show everyone that I have been working on.

Be-Stitched Pattern in White

Be-Stitched Pattern in Eizbeth 663
I have a little bit of a mess to clean up before I can start working on my project.  I keep them in a small little bin that I can keep in my purse or work bag and well I guess I should come up with something else to keep them in so I don't have to battle this again.

Christmas Bell 2007
By Wanda Salmans
This is the newest pattern that Wanda had posted for Christmas Bell 2007.  I have started the first ring and chain.  I need to get working on my stuff as I have several Swap Partners from Raverly that I have to make stuff for.

New Threads

I have lost track of time and forgot to share some of the threads that I got from our friends in Tat Land.  These I got back in April.

Rhubarb Pie from Marilee Rockley

I am trying to figure out what pattern I can use this thread on.  Hmmm maybe one of Jon's new patterns from her latest book that she just came out with.

The next batch of threads came from Lady Shuttle Maker.  I am still not sure what to make with them but I know that I will come up with something cause that is just the way that I am.

The front color is Neapolitan Size 20, Middle color is Rio Size 20 and the last one is Witches Brew Size 20 as well.

Thank you ladies for all your hard work that goes into the hand dyed threads that you make :)

Tatting Updates......

I have still been working on my tattting.  I am just not as quick and can't sit still for a long period of time to work on stuff. I wanted to share of the recent things that I have completed.

This first one is a free pattern that I got from Be-Stitched.  It was a great ring and chain pattern for me and really easy.

I used this one as a handmade item for my Afghan Swap that I am in.  My swap partner just loved it.

Its not 100 % correct but hey what can you say for the first go round for the pattern.  I am very happy with the way it turned out.

Several months back I saw a pattern that Anika had made and she was so kind to share her pattern.  The first round was a sinch.  Then came the second row and I ran into which thread to I attach it to the ball or the shuttle.  I got to thinking to myself gosh I have A LOT of learning to do still.  I did notice that I added an extra picot to the one ring but heck I'll use that to attach the thread to and hang it on the tree!  :)  No worries what so ever.  Please be nice when you see the finished work......

Great Grandma's Ripple

My Great Grandmother made all of us Great Grand kids Ripple Afghans.  I was not able to get her pattern before she passed away but I have found the pattern that she used by countless hours of looking on the Internet.  I have started one just to use just to use when your sitting on the sofa or chair at home.  My sure that I will never get to use it cause my family will hijack it! :-)  These are some of my favorite colors as well.

WoW....Time has got away from me........

A few months ago I got a puppy a Chihuahua.  Her name is Chloe and is such a mommy girl.  We picked her because of her markings.  I have run into so many people that say they have never seen a dog her color.

This is from the night that she came home.......

She is mommy's little Princess ..............
Oh boy does she hate her mommy when I put this on her.....

On August 1st we had experienced the tragic loss of my German Short Haired Pointer that was truly my pride and joy.  She was up in age but still would on occasion have puppy moments.  Her health was going down hill but we were going to allow her to live life as long as she was comfortable.  She would just wonder off and this time she did into the path of car.  She is no longer in pain but cause a lot of heart ache for our family.  Who were we going to feed ice cubes to????  Who were we going to feed pizza crust to????  Who were we going to call Mosie or Mommy Girl????  After several night of nightmares for my son we had to do something to change that.

Meet Snickers.......Yes another little Chihuahua.  He was at the vet yesterday and is a whole big 2 lbs 7 oz.....

At the end of the day this is not my pointer but makes me happy to see this........

A Trip to Cake Boss

Yesterday 8 of us loaded up in 2 cars and traveled to Hoboken New Jersey. We went to Carlo's Bakery - AKA the Cake Boss that is on TLC. In my house we are big fans and each week that new show gets taped on DVR. I am going to share some of the picture from yesterday. I know this has nothing to do with crafts.
